First Nations Toys
Toy Libraries Australia joins a network of more than 2,500 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program.
Toy Libraries Australia delivers on it's pledge to Increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier diversity to support improved economic and social outcomes by having all known Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned toy manufacturers and retailers displayed here. Although some companies and organisations listed here are not certified as being owned and operated by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, they have a strong and respectful connection to talented indigenous creators.
Our organisation is committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our purchasing practices. Wherever possible, we prioritise the purchase of toys, educational resources, and creative works from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–owned suppliers, manufacturers, and artists.
We aim to:
-
Promote economic participation and growth of Indigenous businesses;
-
Respect and celebrate the cultural knowledge and creativity of First Nations peoples;
-
Source authentic products that are created or licensed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; and
-
Verify suppliers through recognised directories such as Supply Nation, Indigenous Business Direct, or state-based Indigenous Chambers of Commerce.
Our commitment aligns with our values of inclusion, respect, and reconciliation, and helps ensure that our purchasing decisions contribute to meaningful social impact.
